Well, it's official, I'm taking a break from active participation in anything steam related. I've spend a lot of time, money, and energy the last few years at Rough and Tumble helping to maintain and operate steam powered farm equipment. With no disrespect to the fine people I've met along the way, I would like to say that my heart and interest remains in steam railroading. After trying to pursue this interest and failing multiple times, I've decided that it isn't worth my time and effort anymore, and that it's just causing me unneeded stress and anger.
I hope to graduate from Millersville University next spring. So for now I want to focus my energy on building a career for myself. Steam is in my past and as hard as it is for me to admit it, it is an industry that I will most likely never be a part of. I do plan on moving away after graduation and reestablishing myself else where and maybe I'll rekindle the steam engine flame that has been growing dimmer in recent years.
Until then I'm gonna call it quits.
Many people have said "It's just a hobby" but hey, if the hobby is causing me to feel emotionally and physically drained, then it's time to move on.
